When it comes to protection, few features are as important as the roof above your head. Your roof is much more than just a hat for your house - it keeps outside elements like rain, sleet, snow, and wind outside so you and your family can stay comfortable and dry inside. A properly maintained roof also helps protect your home's structural integrity, keeps critters out, and insulates your home during cold months. With all that said, it's easy to see why your roof plays such a crucial role in your everyday life. That's why, when your roof needs maintenance or replacement, you need to work with experienced, trustworthy roofers in Oklahoma City, OK.

Hixon's has seen and done it all when it comes to residential roofing services in South Carolina. Whether you own a small, secluded ranch-style home or a sprawling mansion in the suburbs, we have the expertise and tools to accommodate any job. Do you need a small leak fixed on your asphalt roof? No problem, we've got you covered. Are you in need of a brand-new roof built from scratch? We can help you with that, too. What types of residential roofing services do we offer in Oklahoma City? Here are some of our most common job requests:
Our team specializes in all forms of roof repair, from minor leaks to major structural issues.
We will build you a new roof from scratch, using high-quality materials. If you have a vision, we can make it a reality.
Depending on your needs, we can remove your old roof and install a new roof on your home.
We will replace your old, worn-out shingles, metals, and other roofing materials.
We provide quality craftsmanship and products because we believe in what we do. We want happy customers who refer their friends and family. You may not see flashy internet ads everywhere for our company, but that's by design. Our word-of-mouth referrals are so frequent and far-reaching that we don't need to pay for ad spots. We would rather invest that money into the best tools and most knowledgeable roofing experts available. That way, we can better serve our customers.
Because, at the end of the day, your satisfaction is our #1 priority.
Your home's roof is exposed to the elements 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. As a homeowner, you probably do your best to keep your roof in good condition with regular maintenance and inspections. However, even properly maintained roofs can be damaged without notice. Mother Nature has her own set of rules, and when she chooses to unleash her power on your roof, there isn't too much you can do.
If your roof is leaking, growing moss, or your shingles are cracked, it's time to call the pros. You need contractors that are efficient, effective, and on-time. That's where Hixon's Roofing comes in.
Hixon's Roofing will provide quality roofing repairs for homes and businesses with all types of roofs. Whether you have a small, single-story home with a minor leak or a sprawling estate with multiple roofing issues, Hixon's will get your roof back to new in no time. It doesn't matter if we installed your roof or not, Hixon's will provide top-notch customer service and the highest quality roofing repairs in Oklahoma City.
While some situations like downed trees require obvious roof repair, it's not always clear when your roof needs some TLC. Keep these common signs in mind the next time you do a visual inspection of your roof:
If the shingles on your roof are cracked or curling, you can safely assume that they are nearing the end of their lifespan. If you notice shingles missing, it's an obvious sign that your roof needs some repair.
Asphalt and composite shingles will shed granules over time, especially when they're starting to wear out. Often, these granules find their way into your gutter system. When you're cleaning your gutters this quarter, keep an eye out for this course, black grit. It's a telltale sign that your roof may need attention or repair.
It's a good idea for every homeowner to check their attics for signs of leaks and general disrepair. While you're up there, look at the ceiling in your attic. If you notice the rafters or decking is sagging towards the ground, you could have a serious problem on your hands caused by a leak. If your roof deck is sagging, call Hixon's as soon as possible for an inspection. If the damage is localized, you can often avoid a full roof replacement.
As a full-service roofing company, our team of expert roofers has installed hundreds of new roofs in South Carolina. Whether you need a metal roof for your secluded home in the woods or a new roof for your commercial business, we're here to make the installation process easy and streamlined.
It all starts when you call our office for a free estimate. We'll take all the time you need to go over your new roof installation options to customize the structure and style to your needs. Once we have defined the project's details, our roof installation professionals will get to work on your home or business. Unlike some roofing companies in Oklahoma City, Hixon's is transparent about every step of the installation process. We keep our clients informed at all times and are happy to provide updates as we make progress on your new roof. While we are installing your new roof, we treat your home or business like our own. You can always count on friendly interactions and a clean and tidy work area. After your new roof is installed, we'll clean up behind ourselves so it's like we were never there.
When you hire Hixon's Roofing to install a roof on your home or business, know that we only use the highest-quality materials and the best construction techniques available. That way, you'll have a fantastic-looking roof that will last for decades. On top of our unmatched workmanship, clients also receive a 10-year labor warranty on architectural shingles and a 5-year labor warranty on three-tab and metal roofs.
Residential and commercial roofing are similar in that they both require experienced contractors to perform quality work. However, unlike residential roofing (a more straightforward process), commercial roofing projects can be complicated and lengthy. In our experience, there can be dozens of factors to be considered to complete the job correctly. Commercial roofing contractors in Oklahoma City, OK, must account for rooftop HVAC systems, external piping, external utilities, and more. Because commercial roofing structures typically have many layers, it's more difficult to find and remediate leaks. As such, our commercial roofing contractors have different skillsets than residential roofing pros.
Like the residential side of our business, we have completed hundreds of commercial roofing projects in South Carolina. We know exactly what it takes to repair, install, or inspect a commercial roof. When businesses in South Carolina need roofing work, they come to Hixon's Roofing because they know that we will get the job done right the first time. They know that our team is dependable, friendly, and highly qualified to accomplish any commercial roofing project. We're talking roof repairs for small offices to new roof installations on huge, multi-building industrial complexes.
If you're starting a commercial roofing project, don't settle for mediocre roofing contractors. After all, a commercial roofing project can be a huge investment, and you need to get your money's worth. Hixon's is here to exceed your expectations and take on any commercial roofing needs you may have, whether they're minor fixes or major roofing replacements.
At Hixon's Roofing, we make it difficult for any other roofing company to compete with our helpful and professional services. OKLAHOMA (KFOR) – Oklahoma’s infamous “State Fair Murders” is approaching its 35th anniversary, but to this day no one has been held responsible for the killings.
“This case is one of Oklahoma’s highest profile, unsolved cold cases,” said Dorian Quillen, a private investigator. “We’re getting ready to have the fair again and every time the fair comes around, you know, people start talking about this case.”
Quillen was also a journalist at the time of the murders and covered the case.
On September 23, 1987, Cheryl Genzer, 25, and Lisa Pennington,16, were brutally murdered after leaving the State Fair.
“Nothing really bad happened at the fair, but they were never seen again by their family, and they disappeared after they left with these two men,” said Quillen. “A month later, their bodies were found about a mile or so from this guy’s house.”
Decades ago, prosecutors charged a man for the murders based on a testimony from his friend. However, at the last minute, that friend recanted his claims, and the charges were dropped and no one has been held responsible since.
Alan Pennington, the victims’ brother and Quillen say they are doing all they can to get the case back in the spotlight.
“We want, you know, something to be moving again,” said Pennington. “You’re always wondering about, you know, what life would be like with them here…. It’s been hard.”
The duo says they believe they know who was behind the trigger.
“We believe there were two killers, we believe one of them has passed away, but we believe the other one is alive and well and bragging pretty continually about killing these girls,” said Quillen.
They also firmly believe with such drastic developments in DNA testing, there’s hope to finally put an end to the mystery.
“Just to have a resolution to the case would mean the world to me,” said Pennington.
Pennington and Quillen are holding a press conference on Sept. 23 to officially ask for fresh eyes to look into the case and test evidence they say hasn’t been tested before. It’ll be held at the cemetery where the sisters, along with Pennington’s parents, are buried.
GOP Candidate for Oklahoma County District Attorney, Kevin Calvey, told KFOR, “I have tremendous sympathy for the families of these victims and I would like to see this case solved. I have not reviewed the evidence in this case but, after I am elected District Attorney, I promise I will meet with the victims’ families.”

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – If you have a boat, you may have taken it out for Labor Day and could be heading out again this weekend. But before you do, you need to check it for zebra mussels.
The invasive species has been confirmed in nearly 30 Oklahoma lakes, including Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City.
Zebra mussels are a familiar foe here in Oklahoma. They’re really small, but they can cause really big problems.
“Usually, we’ll find a public water body or two every year, perhaps, that have a new infestation of zebra mussels,” said Don P. Brown with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.
Brown says the list of infested lakes now stands at 27, including Lake Overholser and here at Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City, where you can see them on the shoreline.
“Zebra mussels are small,” Brown said. “When fully grown, they’re about dime-size mussels, and like their name implies, they have stripes on them.”
For water sources like Lake Hefner, they can lead to costly problems.
“They’ll end up clogging up the waterworks and the pipe ways, and they have to be cleaned,” Brown said. “There’s no danger to the water supply itself as far as drinking water, but it just costs a lot more money to try to maintain everything after these mussels get into the system.”
Brown says once zebra mussels make it to a lake, nothing can be done to eradicate them, but boaters can play a key role in controlling their spread.
“Whenever they go out on the water in their boat, we’d like them to make sure all the water is drained out of their boats and they clean it with a power wash perhaps, and then let that boat dry out for, hopefully, if they can, a week,” Brown said. “That should eliminate any type of transfer that we might get from lake to lake with the boats.”
It can be very hard to see zebra mussel eggs, so that’s why it’s important to clean your boat even if you don’t see any on it.

LINDSAY, Okla. —
Locals in a small Oklahoma town said their utility bills are through the roof.
These costs occurred in the midst of a deficit in the city budget. Lindsay residents said they’re seeing big utility bills, and some are to the point where they’re going to move out of town.
But city officials said there are many factors to those bills.
"The month before was $209. This one was $538," said Devin Herrod, a Lindsay homeowner.
Herrod showed KOCO 5 his utility bills from the last few months and, sure enough, he saw a $300 increase from one month to the next.
"I think the highest bill I’ve had since I’ve lived here was $263. This ain’t right," Herrod said.
He’s lived in the town since 2009. Herrod said up until that $500 bill, the highest one he ever had was half as much.
"We are going to move. We’re leaving. As soon as I get a chance, I’m headed to Nebraska," Herrod said.
He said it’s not just him. He’s heard from all his neighbors who are in the same boat.
The biggest issue is older homeowners on a fixed income who can barely pay the bill. One of those people is his own mother.
"She’s living in the dark. She can’t afford it. She gets $1,200 a month, and by the time she pays all her bills, she’s got $78 dollars left over," Interim City Manager Janice Cain said. "The city council did implement a new rate for effect in our July beginning budget."
Cain acknowledged the rate hike, saying there are many factors that feed into those utility bills. The 2021 winter storm was a big one that they are still paying for.
"The city of Lindsay got a bill for $400,000. So, we’re trying to get that paid off through them on a monthly basis," Cain said.
The Grand River Dam Authority supplies the town power. On top of the bill from the storm, there’s a fuel adjustment charge.
"They pass that on to us, and we pass that on to our customers," Cain said.
Unlike other power companies where electricity is on its own, water, sewer, electricity and sanitation are on the same bill in Lindsay. She also says higher natural gas costs contribute to the increase.
KOCO 5 was told the city also had to re-work its entire budget.
"We’re also facing some budget deficits, so we’ve got to recover our costs to pay our own wholesale power bill," Cain said.
The city said right now, they aren’t covering their costs, but their goal is to not raise rates any further. They had to cut $500,000 from their annual budget for the next year.
